Berlin Wrestlers Third At Glastonbury Duals

Jake Eliades and Rick Mullins go 4-0 on the day to lead Redcoats.

Berlin placed third at the Glastonbury Duals last Saturday behind champion Glastonbury and runner-up Fairfield-Ludlow. Jake Eliades and Rick Mullins went unbeaten 4-0 at 154 pounds and 162 pounds respectively on the day.

Both Hall and Maloney defeated Berlin last year by significant scores.

"it was nice for the team to see their efforts showing benefits," Berlin coach Jim Day said. "Jake Eliades had two pins and two tech falls. Rick Mullins wrestling up a weight all day earned two decisions and two pins. Ethan Greider now has eight pins on the year and a 10-1 overall record. Ryan Ogden had the most inspirational win when he came back to win an 11-8 decision over his opponent from Hall after trailing 6-1.

"Mike Burek continues to show remarkable improvement by winning three matches in only his first year on the team."

Rick Mullins currently leads the team in wins with 13 (13-1 overall), Jake Eliades has carved out a 9-1 record since returning from football. Bill Conticello has earned a 7-3 record since returning from football.
