Car Crashes Into Pond Off Route 9 In Berlin Tuesday

BERLIN, CT — A vehicle crashed into a pond off a highway in Berlin Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

The the crash took place at about 3 p..m. on Route 9 northbound, local fire officials said.

State transportation officials said the crash was about a half-mile before Exit 24.

Local fire officials said the crash caused heavy traffic delays in the area and police said to avoid the area just beyond the entrance ramp from Christian Lane.

There was no immediate report about injuries.
