Consumers Interstate Corporation (CIC) Acquires MRS Industries Inc.
Two local Connecticut companies — one in Berlin, the other in Norwich, have merged.

Kenn Fischburg, CEO of Consumers Interstate Corporation (CIC) has announced the acquisition of the MRS Industries Inc., a competitor and distributor of safety and packaging supplies, based in Berlin.
MRS Industries Inc was founded in 1971 by Mike and Peg Shelto, and is currently managed by their two sons Dave and Andy Shelto. The Norwich-based Consumers Interstate Corporation, a distributor of industrial and business supplies, was founded in 1947 by Jack Fischburg and has been driven by his son Kenn since 1974 after Jack’s death. Both are second-generation companies.

Kenn Fischburg is “thrilled with adding their expertise in the safety supply business” and is looking forward to working with the Shelto family during this transition. “This is a great opportunity to help our customers” stated Kenn.
