CT Gun Business To Leave State For Wyoming

A Connecticut gun manufacturer has announced plans to leave by the end of the year.

NEW BRITAIN, CT — New Britain-based gun manufacturer Stag Arms will relocate to Cheyenne, WY in the coming months, according to a statement from the company. The company chose Cheyenne because it is considered "an incredibly hospitable place to do business" and "its citizens' unwavering support for the Second Amendment."

Elie Azar, Founder and CEO of White Wolf Capital, LLC, which owns a controlling interest in Stag Arms, said in a statement: "We decided it was time to do a complete refresh of the Company. We needed to solve for three things: visionary customer-centric leadership, a business-friendly, pro-growth economic environment, and a cultural climate that reflects Stag's brand image of independence and free spiritedness. I am pleased to report that we have found a solution that hits all these points."

The company boasts that 100 percent of its manufacturing is done in the U.S. They also produce left-handed AR rifles.

She added that while the city is never happy to lose a business, the industrial park where Stag Arms is located is 90 percent full, and the city is hopeful that a new tenant will move in during the next six months.

Stag Arms posted about the move on Facebook. One user said: "I’ll miss you. Proud to have bought a ton of your products from my home town of New Britain."
