Every Tattoo Tells A Story
Berlin' Jenn Hoyt honors the fight of her aunt and mother.

Berlin's Jenn Hoyt got a tattoo with her son Jayson's name on her wrist when he was born. It obviously had special meaning to her.Â
Jayson is now 6 but when he was four, Hoyt decided to get another tattoo, this time with just as much meaning.
"We formed our first Relay for Life team in 2011 to honor my mother (Nancy Ringrose) and my Aunt Patty Maguda," said Hoyt. "My aunt passed away before the Relay so she never got to see that day. At that time I decided I wanted to do something to honor her, so I got the tattoo on my ankle."
The tattoo says Mom on one side and Patty on the other side of a pink ribbon.
"I knew I wanted a pink ribbon because my mother is a breast cancer survivor," Hoyt said. "Purple was my aunt Patty's favorite color so I knew I wanted that in there as well so that is the background color. It has really special significance to me. I know she would have loved it. She was a very happy person and she would have appreciated it."
Hoyt and her team Patty's Angels, participated in the Berlin Relay For Life and wants the community of Berlin to understand its importance.
"Relay for us is being able to take one day, 24 hours, where you can think about those people who are fighting or who have fought and lost their battle with cancer," Hoyt said. "Not that we don't think about those people every day but it's important to take time out and understand what they went through and continue to go through. You honor the people that aren't here and the people who are still here with you. You know what people with cancer are going through every day and night with cancer treatments. This is a great experience and gives us time to pause and think about how hard they have to fight and how fortunate we are."Â
