Fireworks Near Me: New Britain's 4th Of July 2020
New Britain is the third community in the state to announce it will move forward with fireworks this year.

NEW BRITAIN, CT — While most communities around the state have canceled fireworks this year, New Britain has said it will go forward with its Great American Boom show, according to The Hartford Courant. New Britain joins Waterbury and Naugatuck, which are also hosting Fourth of July fireworks despite the pandemic.
Mayor Erin Stewart told the Courant that "summer isn't canceled" and that the city was trying hold events "we're all accustomed to."
Previous years have seen up to 50,000 people at the show. However, the festivities will be considerably scaled back compared to previous years. The fireworks will be drive-in only and viewers will need to purchase a $10 parking pass, The New Britain Independent reported.

The Great American Boom in New Britain will be July 4 with parking lot entry opening at 7:30 p.m.
For the Waterbury show July 5, to promote social distancing, viewers will be prohibited from viewing the fireworks in the Brass Mill Center Mall parking lots. The city is encouraging spectators to adhere to all social distancing and CDC guidelines, WFSB reported.

Naugatuck will also be holding fireworks on July 2 with social distancing guidelines to be announced.
Numerous other communities across the state from Greenwich to Enfield and Milford have all canceled Fourth of July fireworks.
