Fundraiser Started For Struggling College Bar

A GoFundMe has been started to support a New Britain bar popular with CCSU students.

"After all the laughs, the tears, the good and the bad nights, that Elmer's Place has brought all of us, it is our turn now to give back to them. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our local college bar is suffering greatly and without our help will be forced to close."

Elmer's Place voluntarily shut down for two weeks in September after it was linked to a rise in cases at CCSU.

So far, the fundraiser has brought in $635 of its $5,000 goal.

"No donation is too small," the post reads. "Let's save our favorite place, and forever find ourselves in this bar! All profits will go to the Cook family to make sure that Elmer's is up and running for generations and generations to come!"
