Letter To The Editor: Berlin Bears Opening Night a Success

League President thanks the volunteers who helped make the event run smoothly.

To The Editor:

I want to extend a HUGE thank you and CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who made our WEDNESDAY Evening BMFC OPENING CEREMONY a complete success.

Many people came together to make it a tremendous event for all the kids in the program.

There are way too many people to thank in total but I wanted to reach out to a few who did exceptional work:

Jennifer Chant and Christine Paris-Kelly for organizing and getting all those moving parts in order.

Brian Amenta and his crew from Amenta’s Barber Shop, 259 New Britain Road next to No Name Grill … please visit for all your haircut needs.

The wonderful kids from UPBEAT who covered the FacePaint, Tattoo, and Sno-Cone stations for us.

Jim Bengiovanni who did a wonderful job DJ-ing the event and providing the FUN musical environment.

Vin Biscoglio who added his outstanding vocal tones in announcing all the kids. Thanks VIN for all you do for ALL sports in TOWN.

Jim Mazzarella and his band of concession troops; Tom Undercuffler, Rosa Tralli, Doug & Deb Lojko, Trish Michaud, Sharon Demorais, Fran Mazzarella, and Anne Marie Dunn who slaved over the grills and provided all the GREAT FOOD.

Melissa Buccheri and her Mom who worked tirelessly at the Merchandise Booth and outfitted us all with brand new gear which looks phenomenal !!!

I know there were many others who made this night the incredible success it was and I sincerely thank all of you!!!

As the old proverb says …. “even the heaviest objects can be lifted with many hands” … thanks to all who offered their hands !!!

Thanks to all of you and we are looking forward to an OUTSTANDING Football and Cheer season!!

Sincerely,

Rich Dunn
