Library Schedules Halloween Programs
Many holiday-themed things to do for the little ones.

Storytimes are a half-hour program featuring stories, fingerplays, songs, and a short movie. Each week an early literacy skill will be highlighted. There are six early literacy skills: print awareness, phonological awareness, letter knowledge, vocabulary, print motivation, and narrative skills. No registration is needed for these programs
Mondays 10:30 a.m. for 18 – 36 months
Tuesday 1:30 p.m. for 3 - 6 years
Wednesday 11:30 a.m. for birth to 18 months
Thursday 10:30 a.m. for all ages
Thursday 6:30 p.m. for all ages
The theme for October 15-18 is dinosaurs
The theme for October 22-24 is mice
The theme for October 29-Nov 1 is Halloween fun
Halloween Family Storytime is Thursday October 25 at 6:30 p.m. Children may wear their Halloween costumes. The half-hour program features stories, songs, and a short film. Halloween goody bags will be distributed. Registration is required (so we have enough goody bags).
Playtime – Friday 10 a.m. to noon - Drop in – no registration. Weekly throughout the year. Opportunity for babies, toddlers and preschoolers to play and socialize together with parents in the large meeting room of the library.
Pumpkin Patch Painting: Wednesday, October 17 between 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. - Early Dismissal Afternoon - Pick a pumpkin to paint and decorate and then put it on display in the Library Pumpkin Patch. Over the next week, everyone can vote for their favorite pumpkin. Winners will be notified on October 31. Kids may bring in their own pumpkins between October 17 and 20 to add to our display and enter the contest. Registration required.
Tails of Joy – Read to me dogs
Saturday – Oct. 20 from 10:30 to noon – Children in Grades 1-5 – Registration required. The “Tails of Joy” organization provides Reading Education Assistance Dogs to help improve the literacy skills of children. Dogs are patient, non-judgmental listeners, and allow an opportunity for children to practice their reading skills. Bring your favorite book or choose one from the library collection!
