Mass Layoffs Hit Bristol Amazon Delivery Service
A logistics company announced it will be closing this fall.
BRISTOL, CT — Systemize Logistics, an Amazon delivery service partner, will be closing Sept. 29 as a result of Amazon terminating its contract with the company, according to a document filed with the Connecticut Department of Labor. The move will affect 53 employees.
The document reads: "All affected employees were notified of their separation dates and that their separation from employment will be permanent. There will not be any bumping rights for affected employees—that is, employees will not be able to displace more junior employees out of their job positions as a result of this closure. No affected employees are subject to representation."
The move affects two dispatchers, two lead drivers, and 49 drivers.
