Murphy Blasts Two Home Runs To Power Berlin 12s
Major Little League All-Stars finish pool play a perfect 6-0.

The Berlin 12-year olds swept their pool in route to a 6-0 record defeating Plainville 11-6 Tuesday night at Petit Field in Berlin. Â
The game was close until the top of the sixth inning when Berlin's offense exploded for the final four runs of the game. Holden Murphy delivered twice for Berlin' All Stars hitting a two-run homer in the fifth and a three-run homer in the sixth collecting five crucial RBI. Â
"As I said yesterday, we have someone step up every game that helps us win," Berlin coach Vin Biscoglio said. "We had five round trippers tonight from four different players. When you have your lineup delivering like this, the team knows we have a shot to win."

"Plainville is a good team that we had a great, competitive game with," Biscoglio said. "Close games like this are great to build our confidence going into the next round.Â
"This is the third year this age group has made it to the cross-over for District 5. They did it as 10's, 11's and now 12's. I've been fortunate to coach a great bunch of kids over the last three years and look forward to see how far we can take it this year. We are all set up with pitching and are ready to go."Â
And ready they need to be. The other team advancing from Pool B is McCabe Waters with a high powered offense, Edgewood and New Britain. Â
Berlin will play Thursday night at Petit Complex in the first round of the District 5 cross-over versus the New Britain's All-Stars. Edgewood and McCabe Waters will butt heads the same night in Southington. Game time is 5:45.
