BERLIN, CT - Carolyn Grant, 72, of Vernon, CT, Berlin, CT and Sarasota, FL passed away with her daughters by her side on October 16, 2018.

She was born in Long Island, NY, daughter of Robert L. Grant, Sr. and the late Jean H. Grant, and was a graduate of New Hyde Park High School. Carolyn graduated from Colby Sawyer College in New Hampshire earning a bachelor’s degree in Science. She began her career as a Medical Technologist for Hartford Hospital and later retired from Rockville General Hospital after 25 years of service. Her generous and caring nature was demonstrated when volunteering in her community particularly with Meals on Wheels and installing Life Alert. Carolyn was strong in her faith in God and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vernon for 40 years. Carolyn was an affectionate "Bama" to her three precious grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with her family and lived each day to bring them happiness and joy.

Carolyn's memory is forever cherished by her daughters, Maggie Nardelli and her husband Keith of Middletown and their children, Jacob and Lucas and Kate Burney and her husband John of Portland and their daughter Olivia; father, Robert L. Grant, Sr. of Sarasota, FL; brother, Robert L. Grant, Jr. and two nephews, Andrew Grant and Christopher Grant. She was predeceased by her mother and best friend, Jean Howard Grant.A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Vernon.
