Ryan Lee Golf Tournament Has Turned Into Ryan Lee Foundation Week
Foundation plans a weeks worth of activities so that any and all can be included in the festivities.

The Ryan Lee Golf Tournament on August 16 is already sold out with a waiting list.
His friends and family wanted to come up with some other ways that Ryan's friends could be part of the day so the Foundation has come up with a week's worth of activities.Â
On Saturday, August 10, there will be a mini golf tournament at Putter's Paradise on the Berlin Turnpike. Tuesday will see a basketball clinic put on by Dan Lee, coach of the Cheshire High School basketball team. The clinic will be held for local youngsters and they will all get book bags, courtesy of the Foundation. The Ryan Lee 3 on 3 basketball tournament will be held on Wednesday and then the golf tournament will be on Friday.Â
"Things have gotten so big that we looked for other activities so that we could include more people," Ryan's mother Theresa Lee said. "Dan and I have done some things but it has really been Ryan's friends and the committee. they continue to keep coming up with more and more things to honor and remember Ry. The funny thing is that he would have loved all of these things that we are doing."
Ryan was killed when he was hit by a car in New York City.Â
The Connecticut Section PGA also held the second annual Ryan T. Lee Junior Golf Championship recently. Coincidentally, the winners of both the boys and girls divisions were from Berlin.Â
"That's a nice time because we volunteer but they run the tournament," Theresa Lee added.
A new added twist to this year's golf tournament will see a long drive contest between some big hitters off the 10th tee.Â
