State Police Still Investigating Fatal Crash
One-vehicle accident took the lives of driver from Rocky Hill and passenger from Berlin.

Connecticut State Police are investigating a one-vehicle fatal auto accident that occurred at 3:32 am Dec. 16 on I-91 near exit 22 in Rocky Hill.
According to the police accident report, the driver was Jay Romano, 26 of Rocky Hill. The passenger was Stacey Dastoli, 27, of Berlin.

Romano was driving his truck, a 2003 Dodge 1500 pick-up, in an unknown lane on the four-lane interstate. He lost control for an unknown reason causing him to strike the metal beam guide rail on the right shoulder. The truck then traveled across the roadway, across all four lanes, striking the metal beam guide rail on the left shoulder.
The truck then crashed over the metal beam guide rail on the left shoulder onto the center median. When this happened both occupants of the truck were ejected from the truck and both sustained fatal injuries.
