State Rep. Joe Aresimowicz Honored For Work With Young Children

Rep. Aresimowicz presented with his 'Children's Champion' award, which he received for showing a strong commitment to early childhood issues.

House Majority Leader Joe Aresimowicz, who represents Berlin and Southington in the Connecticut General Assembly, was recognized as a "Children's Champion" by the Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance.

Rep. Aresimowicz received the recognition for showing a strong commitment to early childhood issues in his district and at the legislature—especially his strong support of establishing a Connecticut Office of Early Childhood.

“Early childhood education gives our kids the tools they need for success in the classroom and in life. Supporting pre-school education has been a priority for me and I will continue to fight so that early child education remains a priority for the state,” said Rep. Aresimowicz. “I’m honored to receive this award and I want to thank everyone at the Early Childhood Alliance.”

“The legislators we chose to honor—such as Joe Aresimowicz—as Children’s Champions put young children front and center as they shape policy and engage with early childhood advocates to create the most effective early childhood policy for our state,” said Maggie Adair, Executive Director of the CT Early Childhood Alliance.

The Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance is a statewide membership and advocacy organization committed to improving developmental outcomes in the areas of learning, health, safety and economic security for children ages birth to eight.
