'Stuff a Cruiser' Berlin Style

Students step up to the plate to help Berlin PD's holiday food drive.

The Berlin Police Department held its 10th annual “Stuff a Cruiser” event on Halloween at the Stop & Shop store on Farmington Avenue to collect nonperishable food items and monetary donations for the town’s food pantry which helps 75 families every month and approximately 250 families during the holiday season.

In celebration of their 10th anniversary the department started an elementary school food drive challenge to go along with “Stuff a Cruiser”.

The challenge was put out to all the elementary schools including Saint Paul’s and Mooreland Hill schools.

Police said, “Saint Paul’s school was the clear winner collecting approximately 200 items more than the other schools. We’d like to thank all the participants from all schools and all that came out to donate during the “Stuff a Cruiser” event. This event was a huge success and our best year to date.”
