Tunxis Community College Student From Berlin Chosen To Be Legislative Intern

Samantha Hall has been assigned to State Rep. Sandy Nafis (D-27), deputy majority leader.


Tunxis Community College student Samantha Hall of Berlin is are among those who have been selected to serve as interns at the Connecticut General Assembly during spring semester 2013.   

As part of the Legislative Internship Program, Hall has been assigned to State Rep. Sandy Nafis (D-27), deputy majority leader.

During the program, the interns attend hearings and seminars and conduct research, among other duties. In the process they study the roles of the legislative, executive and judicial branches of state government, and witness the interactions of political parties, interest groups and the bureaucracy.  

These activities are in conjunction with a Tunxis independent study program overseen by Rafaele Fierro, Ph.D., associate professor of history. Tunxis students have participated in the Legislative Internship Program since its inception in 1970.  

From fine arts, health, and technology to liberal arts & sciences programs, Tunxis offers over 60 associate’s degrees and certificates, providing critical thinking and problem-solving skills that prepare students for transfer to bachelor’s degree programs and employment in areas with industry need.
