A Focus on Main Street, a Strategic Plan and More in Canton Today

Good morning Canton. Today is Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013. Here are a few things to know. 

1. A special town meeting at 7 p.m. tonight will be held to potentially accept a $387,000 Connecticut Main Street Investment Fund Grant and set aside $40,000 of town reserves for design.

2. The Board of Selectmen also hosts its regular meeting tonight. See the packet here. 

3. The Farmington Valley VNA offers free blood pressure screenings at 11:30 a.m. this morning. 

4. The National Weather Service predicts a partly sunny day, with a high near 64. Northeast wind 5 to 9 mph.

5. A draft of the 2014-2024 Plan of Conservation and Development is available for community review. 

6. The Crown and Hammer holds an open mic tonight. Music starts at 9 p.m.
