Victim Found In Canton River Identified: Report

Police reportedly found a man's body in the Nepaug River Wednesday morning.

CANTON, CT — A body was found in the Nepaug River Wednesday morning after a report of a disturbance at a Canton home Tuesday night, NBC CT reported. Police said there is no sign of criminal activity in the person's death.

The victim has been identified as Robert Oswald, 57, according to NBC CT.

Police began searching the area after they received an emergency call at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived, one of the people involved in the disturbance could not be located, according to WFSB.

Police found an abandoned car near the Nepaug Reservoir. The search, continued until after 11 p.m. Tuesday and resumed Wednesday morning.
