Financial assistance paying for education after high school may be more important in 2021 than ever. Canton Dollars for Scholars offers a broad range of post-secondary scholarships. Canton residents graduating in 2021 are eligible for all scholarships. Not attending Canton High School? Yes, you are eligible. Graduating from Canton High School but not a resident? Yes, you are eligible though in a more limited fashion. Planning to go to a vocational technical school or certification program after graduation? We have scholarships for you, so please apply. We awarded over 30 scholarships last year totaling more than $30,000. At an average of $1000, it would certainly help, right?

Our list of scholarships for 2021 has grown significantly. We have added new scholarships, and will also be administering several scholarships that were handled by others previously. We encourage you to check the list of scholarships on the website to see for which you are eligible.

Online applications will be accepted starting Monday, March 1 and ending on Friday, April 2. But don’t wait, you can start your profile at any time now. High school seniors residing in Canton may apply regardless of whether they attend Canton High School or a private, parochial or homeschool program. Non-residents graduating from Canton are welcome to apply, though some scholarships are limited to Canton residents only. Scholarships are offered for a broad range of post-secondary programs including vocational and technical schools as well as two-year and four-year college degrees.

Canton Dollars for Scholars seeks the well-rounded student who is achieving his or her personal best grades while serving the school, community and the greater good. CDFS focuses on school involvement, work and community commitments. Most scholarships are not need based. Teacher recommendations are not considered or required, however, the student may provide this info if they want to pursue certain national scholarships through our parent organization, Scholarship America. Financial information will only be required for the need based scholarships.

Students and parents can find information on both local Canton scholarships and national awards by visiting the CDFS website at www.canton.dollarsforscholars.org. Anyone interested in making a donation to support our scholarship programs should visit the website as well.
