Canton Obituary: Josephine Hatala, 89

Condolences to her family and friends.

Josephine Hatala (our angel) peacefully went to heaven, to be beside her beloved husband of 66 years, Joseph A. Hatala on February 24, 2018. Josephine was a faithful Christian woman, who suffered many illnesses over the years but, never lost faith in the Lord.

Josephine was born on July 17, 1928 in Farmington. She is the daughter of Henry and Yvonne (Rice) Woodward.

Josephine leaves behind two daughters, Ann Colwell and her husband Francis of Winchester and Janet Clarke and her husband Andrew of Simsbury. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Andrew Clarke Jr. and his wife Mariah and Jennifer Clarke as well as many nieces and nephews. Josephine also leaves behind her brother Henry Woodward and his wife Barbara of Denton TX, her sister-in-law, Marjorie Woodward of ME. Josephine will join her predeceased brothers Francis Woodward and Bernard Woodward along with her sister Alice Crelan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 10:30 am followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery, Collinsville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Josephine’s memory can be made to the Easter Seals Capital Region, Outpatient Rehab Services, 100 Deerfield Rd Windsor, CT 06095. WWW.EasterSeals.com. This organization provided multiple rehabilitation services for Josephine.
