While a treated salt used by Public Works crews is working, colder temperatures are causing more snow-covered roads, Public Works Director Robert Martin said Tuesday afternoon.Â
Canton places a treated salt prior to storms, which helps keep ice from bonding to the surface, Martin said. While that is working, colder temperatures cause the snow to pile up more, he said.Â
"It keeps the roads a little more snow covered," he said.Â
Canton is working all eight plow routes and two smaller trucks are working on parking lots and other small areas, he said.Â
This is the 5th time in 11 days, crews have been on the road for weather related matters, he added.Â
