Getting Threw: A Story of Survival in a Canton Library Book Talk

A free book talk by a trained nurse about her own battle with rare gastro-intestinal conditions, and her recommendations for self advocacy.

On Saturday, December 9, at 2:30 p.m. Canton Public Library will offer a book talk with author Wendy Rosenberg about her new autobiographical book, Getting Threw-- A Story of Survival. In this talk, Ms. Rosenberg, a former nurse, will share her story about overcoming a series of rare gastrointestinal health challenges. Through a rational recounting of sometimes dramatic events, she integrates her background and timeline with in-the-moment diary entries, highlighting occasions of happiness and struggles with despair. Most of all, she wants to encourage people to advocate for themselves and never give up hope.

A question and answer period will follow. Ms. Rosenberg’s book will be available for sale and signing after the program. Registration is requested for seating set-up. Canton Public Library is located at 40 Dyer Avenue in Canton. For more information please visit www.cantonpubliclibrary.org, call (860) 693-5800, or email bvanness@libraryconnection.info.
