With a stage and film career that spanned six decades, Katharine Hepburn is an American icon. On Saturday, April 6, 2 pm, at the Canton Public Library, Natalie Belanger, Program Manager at the Connecticut Historical Society, presents a program called "Katharine Hepburn: From Hartford to Hollywood.”

Born and raised in Connecticut, Hepburn had a career in stage, film and television that reflected the changing role of women in broader society. The story of her life-long ties to Connecticut (and connections to Canton) offers a complete picture of how Hepburn became the woman and the star she was.

The lecture is free although registration is requested. Canton Public Library is located at 40 Dyer Avenue in Canton. For information please call (860) 693-5800, email kbunn@cantonpubliclibrary.org, or visit www.cantonpubliclibrary.org.
