This week employees at Larsen Ace Hardware began stocking shelves in a newly expanded space.
"We're on schedule to be done around Thanksgiving," said Fred Larsen Jr., who owns the business with his father. Â
Earlier this year the Canton Village business detailed plans to expand the store to its entire building, bringing retail space to nearly 10,000 square feet. Walls that had previously separated Ace from other businesses in the building were removed. Â
Other changes include an updated exterior with a vestibule entrance.Â
The exterior changes are largely finished but this week work is being done to one side of the building that was originally not part of the improvement plan. Larsen said, however, that it will look much nicer with that piece.Â
Another change that is coming is a one-line system.Â
The store will carry the same types of products but will have a greater selection, Larsen said. One change will be the addition of the Val Spar line of paints.Â
The business remains open during the upgrades.Â
