Winsted Couple Bilked Elderly Woman Out Of $50K: Report

WINSTED, CT - A Winsted couple is facing charges that they embezzled $50,000 from an elderly woman while working for Companions & Homemakers, NBC Connecticut reported. Terrance Sutherland, 45, and Mindy Sutherland, 43, are charged with first-degree larceny and third-degree forgery.

The pair is accused of embezzling the money from a 95-year-old woman over a five year period, according to NBC.

A statement from Companions & Homemakers noted that the client will be fully reimbursed for the loss and that the organization is cooperating with the investigation.
