2 Teens Killed, 1 Critically Injured In CT Crash
Three girls were in a Ford F-150 truck when the driver lost control on North Society Road on Brooklyn.
BROOKLYN, CT — Two 17-year-old girls died in a fiery Brooklyn wreck early Monday morning. Police said three girls were in a in a Ford F-150 pickup truck and traveling northbound on North Society Road around 12:15 a.m. The driver, while attempting to negotiate a right curve, lost control of the vehicle.
The truck collided with the guardrail and continued into a ditch where it caught fire, according to police. Shawnna Wojnowski, of Plainfield, and Brenna Ann Larson, of Grosvenordale, were pronounced dead at the scene. Ashley Adamo, of Pomfret Center, was seriously injured and transferred to Hasbro Hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the crash.

All three girls were listed as passengers in the truck and it is not clear who was driving.
Shawnna's brothers say they are heartbroken over the death of their sister. Brandon Wojnowski told NBC CT that "I wish everything wasn’t real, but it is I guess and it hasn’t sunk in yet and I don’t know if it will sink in."

While her other brother, Dakota Cicarelli told NBC CT that “I never got the chance to tell her how much I love her and how much I care for her.”
The news comes after last week, when a 17-year-old girl from Westerly, Rhode Island, drove the wrong way on Interstate 95 in North Stonington and struck another vehicle. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle, Abigayl Lanphear, and two people in the other vehicle, Roger A. Noel, 85, and Dorothy Noel, 83, were killed.
