Chimney Fire Extinguished In Clinton

Crews responded to the fire on Sunday night.

CLINTON, CT — Firefighters extinguished a chimney fire Sunday night in Clinton. The Clinton Volunteer Fire Department responded to a home on Sandy Brook Road at about 8:15 p.m. on May 5 for the reported chimney fire.

“The first arriving Officer on scene used a Thermal Imaging Camera (T.I.C.) to determine that the fire was contained to the chimney and there was no extension,” officials wrote in a post on Facebook. “Truck 1 was first due with Engine 1, Engine 3 and Engine 4 staging at the hydrant located at the corner of Sandy Brook Rd and Liberty St. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and remove the remaining creosote. The all clear was announced shortly after. Units picked up and returned to quarters.”
