Citizens Police Academy Celebrates Graduates
Approximately 25 citizens from Clinton successfully completed the Police Citizens Academy, which is a 10 week course put on by the police.

From Clinton Police: On 5/23/17, approximately twenty five citizens from the town of Clinton successfully completed The Clinton Police Citizens Academy. The Citizens Academy is a ten week course put on by the Clinton Police Department. The citizens that attended the course were provided weekly instruction in several different aspects of law enforcement, which included topics such as: Patrol procedures, Criminal investigations, DUI, Domestic Violence, Search and Seizure/Laws of Arrest, Juvenile matters and the History of The Clinton Police Department. Several guest speakers also presented to the class on other topics that included: the judicial process, court investigations, case trial procedures, and urban policing.
The attendee’s also participated in patrol ride alongs where they went out on patrol with the officers of the Clinton Police Department and observed first hand, what officers encounter on a daily basis. The participants of the class were also provided the opportunity to shoot the same firearms that the officers of the Clinton Police are issued, at the Clinton Police firearms range.
Clinton Police Sergeant Jeremiah Dunn coordinates this course annually, between the months of March and May.
