Clinton 2019 Local Elections: Candidates, Polling Places, Hours
Here's what you need to know concerning the 2019 Clinton local elections including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more.

CLINTON, CT — Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 5 to vote in Clinton’s municipal election. There are numerous positions up for grabs including the town council, boards of education, zoning and police commission.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.
In Clinton, the candidates for the town council for a full term are: Democrats, Christine Goupil, Jack Scherban, Dara Onofrio, and Tim Guerra and Republican candidates include: Mark Richards, Dennis Donovan, Carol Walter, and Chris Aniskovich. The Green Party candidate is Eric Bergman. The petitioning candidates are Leah Marie Saunders and Jane Scully Welch. Residents will choose four candidates.

In Clinton, the candidates for a two-year term on the town council are: Democrats, Dara Onofrio, Christine Goupil, and Tim Guerra and Republican candidates are Chris Aniskovich, Dennis Donovan and Mark Richards. The Green Party candidate is Eric Bergman. Residents will choose three candidates.
In Clinton, the candidates for the Board of Education are: Democrats, Jason Adler, and Chris Passante, and Republicans, Catherine Staunton and Dylan Walter. The Green Party candidates are Jason Feeney and John May. You’ll choose three candidates but only two from the same party can be elected.

For Board of Assessment Appeal the candidates are: Donald R. Hansen, a Democrat, Ona Nejdl, a Republican, and Green Party candidate John Escobales.
For Board of Assessment Appeal alternate the candidates are: Democrat, Alyson Roberts, and Thomas Hollinger, a Republican.
For the Planning and Zoning Board the candidates are: Democrats, Alan Kravitz and Martin Jaffe, and Republicans, Eddie Alberino Jr., Walter Clark, Adam Moore, and Wayne Buchanan. The Green Party candidate is James Connoly. Residents will choose four candidates.
For Planning and Zoning Board alternate the candidates are: Democrat, Will Benoit, and Wayne Buchanan, a Republican.
For Zoning Board of Appeals the candidates are: Democrat, Laurie Jaffe, and Republicans Drew Richards and George Doerrer, and Green Party candidates are Lorian Simister and Aldea Savva. Residents will choose two candidates.
For the Zoning Board of Appeals alternate the candidates are: Maureen Noonan, a Democrat, and Republican, Dylan Walter.
And the candidates for Police Commission are: Peter Niles, a Democrat, Republicans, Bruce Farmer and Lou Russo, and Green Party candidates Phil Sengle and Rob Derry. Residents will choose two candidates.
Connecticut offers Election Day registration, but those who arrive need to be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike previously registered voters standing in line before 8 p.m. to register won't guarantee the ability to vote.
Absentee ballots are also available for those who won't be in town all of election day or for a multitude of other reasons. Voters can also register online prior to the election.
