Clinton Historical Society Celebrates 80 Years

Nonprofit Holds Annual Meeting and Elects Board

Celebrating its 80th annual meeting, the Clinton Historical Society met May 4, 2018 to review the organization’s last year of activity and elect a new slate of officers.

Outgoing president Davde Bautz acknowledged and thanked Board members, and welcomed incoming president Christy Pontillo. Mr. Pontillo has served two earlier terms as president of the Society.

The gathering began with a potluck dinner in the Green Room of the Town Hall, hosted by hospitality co-chairs Mary Kelly Busch and Anne Baker.

Elected to one year terms were:

President Christy Pontillo; Immediate Past President Dave Bautz (pictured here, left to right); Vice-President and Collections Curator EC Schroeder; Treasurer Jack Scherban; Secretary, Gail Webster; Librarian Charlotte Neely; Buildings and Grounds Director Dave Townsend; Elisha White House Curator and Docent Chair Laraine Scherban (pictured here, addressing membership); Auditor Bion Shepard; Publicity Rich Manley; Gardens Dianne Gustafson; Membership Carrie Allen; Hospitality Co- Chairs Mary Kelly Busch and Anne Baker; Communications Co-Chairs Bethany Knight and Mary Jane Morelli.

Upcoming CHS events include Old Brick Open House June 9 and Shakespeare in the Garden August 11-12.

Members also paid tribute to the late JoAnn Dolan, a long time member and contributor.
