Clinton Summer Fest & Fireworks Display Set for Saturday

Clinton Police announce shuttle bus locations and road closure for the event. Read details, including food vendors and entertainment, here.

CLINTON, CT — The second Clinton Summer Fest and Fireworks display will be held on Saturday at the Clinton Town Beach on Waterside Lane.

The event is hosted by the Clinton Chamber of Commerce and the festivities start at 5 p.m. and end at sunset when the Fireworks Display begins.

With several thousand people expected to attend the festivities, Clinton Police are advising residents of the high volume of traffic that will be on the local roads before and after the event.

In an attempt to minimize traffic congestion, several parking lots equipped with shuttle bus service to the Town Beach have been established in various locations of town for your convenience, according to police.

The locations of these shuttle bus parking lots are:

1. The Unilever Building

2. The Town Municipal Lot

3. Pierson School

4. Church of the open Door

5. An area of the Town Hall will be designated for HANDICAPPED parking.

Shuttle buses will run between each parking area and the Town Beach for several hours before the fireworks begin, and for about an hour after the fireworks show has ended.

Saturday afternoon Waterside Lane will be closed to ALL vehicular traffic, and only residents with proper passes will be allowed to access their residences on or along Waterside Lane. It is anticipated that Waterside Lane will return to a normal traffic flow sometime around 11 p.m. Saturday night.

The Clinton Police Department will have several additional officers on duty Saturday evening to ensure traffic flows smoothly before, during and after the event, as well as to attempt to keep each and every person who attends the event safe and secure.
