DEEP RIVER, CT — Valley Regional High School will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday after two students "in the school community" tested positive for COVID-19, according to a letter from Superintendent Brian White. The school serves Chester, Deep River, Essex, and Region 4.

"Our local health departments need time to conduct contract tracing to confirm that numerous attempts are made to reach all of the people who may have been in close contact with each of the confirmed cases," the letter reads.

The district will be conducting deep cleaning during the closure to ensure the building is safe for students and staff to return to.
