Man Caught Trying To Enter Vehicle In Clinton: Police

A homeowner confronted the man, who fled the scene and was later located and arrested, according to police.

CLINTON, CT — A Westbrook man was arrested after police say he was seen attempting to enter a parked vehicle in Clinton on Friday night. Police responded to the upper end of Cow Hill Road at about 7:45 p.m. on Feb. 22 on the report of a person who was seen walking through a yard and attempting to enter a parked vehicle.

“When confronted by the homeowner, the man fled on foot, got into a gold Kia sedan and headed north into Killingworth,” Clinton Police wrote in a post on Facebook. “A short time later after the incident occurred, the individual was located at his home in Westbrook. He was ultimately arrested and charged for the incident. At this time it is unknown if any other cars in this area were entered. Police conducted a thorough canvass of the immediate area on upper Cow Hill Rd., but no sign of any further vehicle breaks were discovered.
