The man was arrested following a lengthy investigation, according to state police.

WESTBROOK, CT — A West Haven man has been arrested in connection to the armed robbery of a gas station in Westbrook last year, according to state police. Richard McTague, 50, was arrested on a warrant Tuesday following a lengthy investigation.
Police said that McTague has been identified as the man who robbed the Jo-Jo Mart (Valero gas station/convenience store), located at 1309 Boston Post Road in Westbrook, at gunpoint on March 7, 2017. The clerk told police that about $150 to $160 was stolen in the robbery.
The clerk told police at the time that the robber offered him some of the money, but he refused to take it, according to the police report.

McTague was incarcerated for unrelated crimes and under the supervision of the Connecticut Department of Corrections when he was served with the arrest warrant, according to police.
McTague, of First Avenue in West Haven, was arrested on charges of first-degree robbery and first-degree threatening. Police said that sixth-degree larceny was not charged because the statute of limitations had expired. McTague was held on a $100,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 27 in connection to the robbery.
