Morgan Boys Golf Team Wins Shoreline Conference Title

Congratulations to the Morgan School Boys Golf Team, who won the Shoreline Conference tournament this week! This is their first league title since 1992!

This Monday, The Morgan School Boys Golf Team won the Shoreline Conference title; their first league title in over two decades!

A Patch reader shared this on our announcements page:

The Morgan School Boys Golf Team wins Shoreline Conference Championship behind a 71 for Gabe Van Ness and a 72 for Maxx Bugg. This is their first league title since 1992.

Morgan's own website, The Morgan PawPrint had this to say about the victory:
Team Members, Frank Rivas, Gabe Van Ness, Maxx Bugg, Tanner Romanos, and Kevin Daley all participated this past Monday. The students, staff, and coaches, Eric Bergman and Paul Beckett, had nothing but nice things to say about the team.

According to the website, Junior captain, Gabe Van Ness, said:

“It felt great for the team to win for the first time in 21 years. The team worked really hard this year and it finally paid off. I played well yesterday. I played my best tournament ever 1+1...”
According to The New Haven Register, Morgan outshot second place team Old Lyme, 315-330.

The Register stated that all 11 of the teams that competed at the tournament qualified for the state tournament a year ago. So, the league is expected to be well represented on June 3, when the Division IV tournament begins.
