Obituary: Robert T. Hine, 81, Of Clinton

Robert Thomas Hine, of Clinton, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. Born on June 6, 1938 in Derby, CT, he was the son of the late Thomas and Justina Hine. He grew up in Ansonia before moving to Clinton where he raised his family and lived for the past 52 years.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. Besides his tremendous love for his family, his great passions were the Marine Corp, traveling the world, all things Disney, a fine red wine with a great meal- whether it was in a five-star restaurant or at the family table. He loved to share his knowledge on all of these topics, to anyone who would listen. The love of his life was his “Bride,” Loretta Hine, who predeceased him.

He was also predeceased by his daughter, Deborah Hine, and his grandson, Zachary Bernier. He was the beloved father of Lisa Bernier and her husband Chuck Bernier, and the loving Grandfather to Brittany (Bernier) Ciarcia, her husband Marco, Taylor Bernier, Amity (Bernier) Vece, and her husband Mike. He is also survived by his Sister Justine Mace, husband Robert, and nieces, Michelle, Jennifer, Katerie, Amy and their families.

The family wishes to thank The Shoreline of Clinton for their dedication and most importantly the love they provided in caring for him during his final months.
