Obituary: Sarah (Monroe) Newman, 77, of Clinton

Sarah loved the White Mountains in New Hampshire spending several summers camping with her family.

CLINTON, CT — Sarah (Monroe) Newman, 77, of Clinton and Old Saybrook, widow of the late Frank P Newman Sr., passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 with her family by her bedside. Born on April 5, 1942 to Francis and Fannie Monroe she was one of eight children.

Sarah was predeceased by three brothers William, Francis and Julius Monroe, one sister Mary Mathieson, a daughter-in-law Linda Newman and a granddaughter Erica Case. Sarah leaves behind three children Frank Newman Jr. of Clinton, Nancy Ramsdell and her husband Robert of Clinton and Julie Bellantuono and her husband Stephen of Colchester, three sisters Fannie Koller of Clinton, Peggy Everitt of Killingworth and Martha Monroe of Mystic, 12 grandchildren/step grandchildren and their spouses Brian and Susie Simpson of Ivoryton, Pam and Richard Arnold of Chester, Timothy Hood of Clinton, Melissa and Roland Allard of East Lyme, Anthony Newman of Clinton, Katina and James Tedford of Westbrook, Crystal Dorothy of Canterbury, George Dorothy Jr of Essex, Angelica Ramsdell, Matthew Ramsdell, Samantha(Devyn) Ramsdell of Clinton, and Jennifer Smith of Deep River, also several nieces and nephews. She also had 20 great-grandchildren.

Sarah loved the White Mountains in New Hampshire spending several summers camping with her family. A private service will be held there in the spring.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 9, 2019 at the Winthrop Baptist Church in Deep River 2:00-6:30 p.m.
