Old Saybrook Man Sold Fentanyl To Overdose Victim: Report

An Old Saybrook man was arrested in Florida on manslaughter charges in connection with an overdose death.

OLD SAYBROOK, CT — Police have arrested a local man on manslaughter charges in connection with a fentanyl overdose death. Robert John Simoni, 29, of Old Saybrook, was arrested on a warrant in Florida and also charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, WTNH reported.

In August, Jake Unwin, 24, died due to a narcotics overdose in Old Saybrook. Simoni is accused of selling the drugs to Unwin and not telling him that they contained fentanyl, according to WTNH.
