WESTBROOK, CT — Westbrook Fire Chief Mike Jenkins is on paid administrative leave following a controversial post he made on Facebook, WTNH reported. The post on an Old Saybrook community forum used crude language to compare former ViceP resident Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris to Forrest and Jennie from “Forrest Gump.”

Community members shared a screenshot of the post and urged the town to take action. A Board of Selectmen meeting was called and the town will investigate the matter.

The Board of Fire Commissioners will hold a meeting Thursday to decide his status as fire chief, according to WTNH.
