$30K In Jewelry, Credit Cards Stolen From 22 Cars In Darien: PD
The vehicle break-ins occurred between March 15 and March 22.
DARIEN, CT — A staggering 22 vehicles were reportedly burglarized in Darien between March 15 and March 22, with jewelry valued at more than $30,000 stolen from one vehicle, and hundreds of dollars in cash, credit cards and gift cards were stolen from others, according to Darien police.
Purses, wallets, a laptop and sunglasses also were reported stolen from various vehicles, and in each incident, the vehicles had been left unlocked, authorities said. Officials added that in some cases, the vehicles' contents were merely disturbed but nothing was taken.
Two of the break-ins occurred at Ox Ridge Hunt Club and the Country Club of Darien, according to police, while others occurred at homes throughout town.

Thieves tried to use some bank cards stolen from some vehicles in Bridgeport, Fairfield, Milford, Norwalk and Yonkers, New York.

In recent months, thieves have burglarized or stolen several vehicles in town, and in virtually all the cases, the vehicles had been left unlocked.
