Roads Closed Due To Flooding, Trees, Wires Down In Darien: UPDATE
Police have released a list of over a dozen roads closed in town as Tropical Storm Elsa passes through the area.

DARIEN, CT — Police have released a list of over a dozen roads closed in town as Tropical Storm Elsa passes through the area Friday morning.
The following roads are closed in Darien as of 10:30 a.m., according to Police Sgt. James Palmieri:
- Nearwater Lane (flooding)
- Post Road / Thorndal Circle (flooding)
- Barringer Road (tree down)
- Post Road / Tokeneke Road (flooding)
- Leroy Avenue / West Avenue (flooding)
- Herman Avenue / West Avenue (flooding)
- Heights Road (flooding)
- Hecker Avenue / Frate Court (flooding)
- Renshaw Road (flooding)
- Post Road / Richmond (flooding)
- Raymond Street near bridge (flooding)
- Post Road / Exit 13 (flooding)
- Sedgwick Avenue / Goodwives (flooding)
- Miller Road (wires down)
- West Avenue near Scout Cabin (flooding)
Police said on Twitter "numerous roads" are closed in Darien due to heavy flooding. Residents are asked not to drive through flooded areas and to avoid unnecessary travel during the storm.

"Do not attempt to drive through flooded areas," police said on Twitter, "and stay clear of rivers and streams that are currently overflowing."

Police also said on Facebook that numerous roads in town are "flooded and impassable," and they are in the process of removing occupants from flooded vehicles.
"Please avoid areas of small streams and rivers," police said on Facebook, "and do not drive if not necessary."
