750+ Without Power In Darien Thursday: Eversource
Several roads were all or partially blocked by downed trees and wires on Thursday, according to Darien Police Chief Ray Osborne.

DARIEN, CT — More than 780 Eversource customers in Darien were without power as of 2:47 p.m. on Thursday, according to the utility company, as the town and the region continued to dig out from Wednesday's snow storm.
Several roads were all or partially blocked by downed trees and wires, and crews were hard at work clearing streets, according to Darien Police Chief Ray Osborne.
Currently there are over 30 roads in Darien either closed or partially closed due to downed trees and wires. DPD is working with Eversource and Darien DPW to clear the roads. Please assume all down wires are energized and stay clear.

Schools were closed for a second day on Thursday, and New Canaan Public Schools has already canceled classes for Friday. At press time, Darien's Schools Superintendent Dr. Dan Brenner had not announced a decision on Friday's schedule.
The Darien Schools will close today Thursday 3.8.18. This is the result of having limited power at the Middle School, over 45 downed power lines throughout town and countless trees blocking roads and sidewalks.
