Fallen Tree Knocks Out Power To Section Of Darien: Update

DARIEN, CT — A fallen tree on Hollow Tree Ridge Road in Darien tore down utility wires on Tuesday and knocked out power to more than 900 Eversource customers in the area, according to police and Eversource.

As of 1:40 p.m., power had been restored to about 600 of the customers, but Hollow Tree Ridge Road between West Avenue and Heights Road in Darien remained closed as crews worked on repairing the scene.

Details on the circumstances of how the tree fell were not disclosed, but several power lines were brought down in the incident.
