Blue Wave Ski Team Kicks off Season at Mt. Southington
Boys team off to a strong start lead by veteran racers; Girls squad has four freshmen round out the varsity results
The Blue Wave Ski Team kicked off the season at Mt. Southington on January 8 amongst a large field of racers from all across the CT Interscholastic Ski League (CISL). The 45 Darien athletes on the boys and girls Varsity and JV teams competed with area high school teams including: Greenwich, Staples, Fairfield, Glastonbury, Amity and others.
The Wave Boys Team had 3 veteran racers in the top 10 out of 168 racers in the two run giant slalom event. Darien Boys results include:

The Darien Girls Team competed in a field of 185 racers where several underclassmen made strong showings for the team:

Darien next competes January 23rd 4:45 race time. And again on January 30th. The top 50 female and male racers in the state will begin individual competitions to be named to Team Connecticut at a January 27 giant slalom shootout followed by 30 racers advancing to a February 3 slalom shootout.
