Camera, Garmet Bag Stolen from Car Overnight on Oakland Terrace

The items were stolen between late Friday afternoon and early Saturday morning last weekend.

Someone took a camera and lenses valued altogether at $2,000 and other items from a woman’s car parked outside a house she’s renting on Oakland Terrace (just off the Post Road near Stamford) last weekend, Darien police were told.

The woman, 61, who is visiting the area with her husband, left the car unlocked in the driveway at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 24, then went out to it at 8 a.m. the next morning and saw numerous items were missing from the back seat — including the camera and lenses, and also a garmet bag holding clothing valued at $600 and a paper bag with children’s gifts valued at a total of $50.

A total of $2,650 was taken from the vehicle, a 2088 Honda Civic. But valuable items in the front seat, for some reason, were not taken.
