Mason writes:

Coach Jim taught me about success by teaching me to be a good sport, and work hard. Our team won the district championship because we worked hard as a team. He showed me how to be a good sport and a good winner (which means not bragging).

Coach Jim taught me about failure by teaching me to never give up and to stay calm when I am losing. I used to get very aggravated and frustrated when I lost a game, but now I keep calm and try harder.

The best advice Coach Jim every gave me was when I hurt my arm and was practicing with a cast. I couldn’t play very well and I got very upset. Coach Jim told me not to give up on myself or my team. He said you practice to get better and that he wouldn’t give up on me. He also taught me the importance of being a good sport and always playing fair.
