Darien 8U Softball Wins Trumbull Invitational!

Darien Little League 8U Softball girls finish 1st in a field of 8 Fairfield County towns

Trumbull Little League kicked off their annual 8U Invitational Softball Tournament at Unity Park on June 26th. Darien competed in a field of 8 towns including squads from Fairfield, Monroe, New Canaan, Ridgefield, Stamford, Trumbull and Wilton. After finishing pool play 3-0, Darien went on to defeat Monroe and Wilton in the elimination round. Rainouts and holiday related delays couldn't slow the Darien momentum as they jumped out early to a 4-0 lead in the championship game. Darien went on to finish the tournament 6-0 defeating Trumbull 11-8 in the Finals at Island Brook Park on July 7th.
