In addition to McNally, the committee nominated Board of Finance chair Jon Zagrodzky and Representative Town Meeting member Marcy Minnick as candidates for the Board of the Selectmen.

McNally said Friday she was "deeply grateful" for the committee's support and confidence in choosing her as their nominee for first selectman.

"We live in a wonderful town filled with so many thoughtful and hardworking people," McNally said in a statement sent to Patch. "I am looking forward to hearing all of your ideas, thoughts, questions and concerns as I campaign this summer and fall."

McNally also noted she was looking forward to campaigning with the entire Republican slate, especially Zagrodzky and Minnick.

"I will work hard to earn the trust and respect of all voters in Darien," McNally said.

RTC Chairman Alexander Davidson spoke highly of this year's slate of candidates.

"Low taxes, excellent schools and high quality of life are not partisan issues," Davidson said in a statement. Our slate of candidates, who will work to preserve local control, are a reflection of that spirit."
