Darien's Mather Homestead Seeks To Restore Its Gorgeous Gardens

About a year ago, the Mather Homestead officially became a museum after the facility was donated to its foundation.

DARIEN, CT — The Mather Homestead recently launched an effort to restore the historic facility's gardens "to their former glory," officials announced.

The foundation has turned to The Impact Vine for assistance in its fundraising efforts, and as of April 5, the Homestead has raised $620 toward a goal of $2,500.

"The Mather Homestead gardens were once a source of town pride and horticultural wonder," wrote officials on the foundation's Facebook page. "Originally designed by Stephen Mather, the original garden included both native plants and specimens from his work across the United States with National Park Service."
